FABRIC TECHNOLOGY
HONEST PROCESS
We work with highly-skilled manufacturers and designers to create long-lasting garments for the active professional.
MERINO WOOL
Our merino wool comes from New Zealand where our partner, The Merino Company, utilizes an innovative weaving technology called NUYARN to spin wool that is highly durable for hiking, biking, hunting, climbing and other performance activities.
The natural, renewable merino wool is spun around a polyamide core. This core provides increased strength, yet makes up only 10 to 15 percent of the fabric content. Polyamide is similar to polyester, except polyamide absorbs moisture, unlike polyester. This wool is also low-density, lightweight and comfortable on the skin, making it optimal for both the work-space and the outdoors.
PRIMEFLEX TECHNOLOGY
We chose TORAY, a Japanese company with a base in New York City for their synthetic fabrics that pack both strength and flexibility. Primeflex has a bimetal thread which allows the fabric to stretch and breathe. This fabric is also easy to clean, wrinkle resistant and maintains shape through excellent dimensional stability.
DESIGNED, CUT AND SEWN IN THE U.S.A.
RUX co-founders, Todd Fagan and An To, worked together in 2017/2018 to design the original line of merino shirts and crossover pants. They tested the garments themselves and have been integral in the prototype development process.
To manufacture these one-of-a-kind pieces, RUX works with a locally-owned company in Maryland to create ultra quality, flexible garments that fit, stretch and breathe.
